- NutriYummies contains all necessary vitamins, minerals and antioxidants essential to child nutrition; not a single ingredient has been added that does not aid absorption.
NutriYummies is also sugar-free and allergen-free (free of the following allergens: soy, wheat, milk, egg, nuts, yeast, fish, shellfish and gluten).
Each ingredient has been carefully selected and tested. NutriYummies is suggested for children ages 2-12 and adults can take NutriYummies, too.
NutriYummies is available in bottles of 90 tablets.
And the best part? NutriYummies tastes great without the use of sugar.
Yes, Intensive Nutrition uses D-Mannitol and pure blueberry fruit powder in NutriYummies instead of overly sweet sugars like fructose. D-Mannitol, a sugar-alcohol, gives each tablet a pleasant mouth-feel and actually increases the absorption pattern of the vitamin, mineral and antioxidant complexes contained in the formula. D-Mannitol is not metabolized by the body and does not promote tooth decay. Pure blueberry fruit powder makes NutriYummies not only appealing to children but it provides additional antioxidant benefits and naturally increases tablet shelf-life.
NutriYummies is the right choice for your family if you:
1. Battle with your child during mealtimes
2. Encourage good eating habits and provide well-rounded meals for your child or children but know that consistency is not 100%
3. Want a sugar-free and allergen-free chewable kids multivitamin
Frequently Asked Questions
How is NutriYummies different than other children's vitamins out there?
NutriYummies is the first chewable, children's vitamin that tastes great and that is also sugar-free and allergen-free. NutriYummies is nutritionally comprehensive; it focuses on those nutrients most essential to growing children. NutriYummies also achieves superior bioavailability. What does this mean? This means that NutriYummies has been designed for optimum absorption and therefore efficacy. Formulation of vitamins, like the creation of any masterful meal, is an art-form. Throwing everything in a multivitamin will only serve to 1) overburden nutrient receptors 2) cause potential stomach upset 3) waste money and 4) trigger food sensitivities (esp. in younger children). An example of how NutriYummies exhibits the very best of dietary supplementation design is our B Vitamin complex (see below).
B Vitamins: Our B Vitamin complex is carefully balanced to ensure that just the right amount of nutrients are absorbed at just the right time. You'll find that some B Vitamins have higher mg/mcg levels than others and are not always 100% of RDV. This is because of their "gate values"; the rate at which they remain in the body before they are excreted. Some B Vitamins are more readily excreted, that is they have a shorter half life than others, so this type of vitamin will have a higher mg value and others the opposite. When B Vitamins are balanced in this manner, as in NutriYummies, nutrient receptors will be more available to perform their function. Because nutrient receptors are active not passive, if an excess vitamin is present when a receptor is engaged, that vitamin will be excreted; it won't be saved for later. Therefore, flooding receptors with levels that exceed gate values, in an attempt to match or exceed RDV percentages, will result in waste and urinary excretion. The old adage that more is not always better is very appropriate to dietary supplementation and the balancing of nutrients in multivitamins in particular.
Why is it important for NutriYummies to be sugar-free?
Sugar, e.g. fructose or glucose, is commonly the first ingredient listed in children's chewable multivitamins because sugar effectively masks the taste of the vitamins themselves. Yet, because the amount of sugar needed is so high, the vitamin profile of the tablet suffers (you can't fit as many nutrients in the tablet). In addition to limiting the nutritional value of a tablet, fructose and other sugars present other problems. They increase blood sugar levels, promote tooth decay, and suppress the immune system. Intensive Nutrition believes that we don't have to compromise nutritional value for taste in a children's multivitamin, and, that we don't have to fool our children into taking a dietary supplement by making it taste like candy.
What is D-Mannitol?
D-Mannitol C6H8(OH)6 is a sugar derivative, known as a sugar alcohol. Unlike sugar however, it is not metabolized by the body, in fact, Mannitol is the preferred sweetener by diabetics because it does not raise blood sugar. As a consequence, Mannitol will not contribute to hyperactivity in young children (when sugar is believed to be contributor) nor will it contribute to tooth decay. D-Mannitol is derived from corn sugar but NOT the corn protein. Individuals with a corn food allergy can take D-Mannitol. If you have any concerns about this, please do consult with your allergist.
How is NutriYummies hypoallergenic?
NutriYummies contains absolutely NO wheat, gluten, egg, soy, milk, casein or nut (peanut or tree nut). Our Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) and Citric Acid are corn sugar derived. Does your formula contain any artificial colorants or preservatives? No. Like our other Multivitamins, Multi-VM and Mega-VM (for ages 12+), NutriYummies contains no artificial colorants or preservatives.
